If you’ve taken photos of your flood damaged home and/or flood damaged contents, chances are likely that you’ve used your cell phone to take these pictures. These picture will work just fine to document your claim. However, the file size of pictures taken on a cell phone can be quite large. This makes it difficult to submit a large number of pictures at one time.
In order to make it easier to get these pictures to me, you will need to resize them. It’s a simple process. Here’s how you do it:
- Transfer all of your pictures from your cell phone to a laptop or desktop. I suggest setting up a folder on your computer and labeling it ‘Flood Pictures’ and placing all of your photos in this folder.
- Once you have all of your pictures transferred from your cell phone into the folder on your computer, click on the green box to the right where is says, ‘Choose Images’. This will open up a new window. Find the file where you stored your flood pictures and open it. A list of your photos should appear.
- Left mouse click on the first image and hold down the Shift key and left mouse click on the last image. All images should now be highlighted. Now click on ‘Open’. The images will start resizing.
- The resized images will be saved in the ‘Downloads’ folder on your desktop with a file name of ‘ResizedPhotos’. The icon will be a folder with a zipper running through it. You may want to copy and save this folder into the folder you created earlier called ‘Flood Pictures’.
- If you have any questions or problems, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
- Now click on the box to the right where is says, ‘ADD PHOTOS’. A new window will open. Find your folder labeled ‘Flood Pictures’ and open it.
- Left mouse click once on the folder called ‘Resized Photos’. This is the folder that you copied over from your Downloads folder a couple of steps ago. Once this is highlighted, click on ‘Open’.
- Under the ‘ADD PHOTOS’ box, you will see the folder appear.
- After the file appears, go down to the next box and enter your email address. Enter your name and street address in the box below that one.
- Once all this is done, click on the green ‘Send’ button and your pictures will be uploaded to me.
